Building stronger conversations at BOINZ 2021

Posted: 5 August 2021

The Building Performance team at MBIE are the Premier Sponsor of this year’s Building Officials Institute of New Zealand (BOINZ) Annual Conference and Expo.

The theme of the event is Coming Together 2021: Collaboration, Communication and Community, and the team will be out in force to meet with event delegates and build stronger conversations.

The conference, run from 16-18 August, brings together a wide range of people from the building industry including, building control professionals, regulatory authorities, surveyors, architects, engineers and developers.

The conference will feature a wide range of speakers from across the industry, including our own GM of Building Performance John Sneyd and Manager of Building Policy Amy Moorhead. John will deliver the opening address on 16 August, while Amy will give an overview of the Building Law Reform Programme on the morning of 17 August.

We’ll be inviting delegates to join us in the Building Performance lounge for a barista-made coffee where members of our team will be available to discuss our key priorities including Building for Climate Change, the annual Building Code update and building legislative reform.

Delegates will also be able to visit our expo stand where we’ll be showing off some of our new tools to make the information we deliver more user-friendly and accessible, such as our tool to see if your building project needs a consent.

We are very much look forward to the conference and expo, and look forward to having some great conversations about the future of building.
