Determinations are made by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) on matters of doubt or dispute to do with building work.

Rulings are legally binding, but only in relation to each case. Previous determinations may provide useful insight for those who are faced with similar problems, but each individual circumstances may vary.

Building a tiny house on wheels

Building a tiny house on a trailer/on wheels does not automatically make it a vehicle there are other factors that you need to consider. There may also be weight requirements that will determine whether it could be determined as a vehicle (trailer) or a load.
