Can my product follow an Acceptable Solution?

Example: a range of backflow valves

A company wants to import a range of backflow valves. It knows that there are already several brands in the market.

Because this type of valve is widely used, it expects that there is a commonly accepted compliance method which might also suit its product.

The company looks to see if it can demonstrate these imported valves meet all the requirements of the relevant Acceptable Solution: G12/AS1 (water supplies). It can, and therefore it can follow an Acceptable Solution.

Evidence will need to be provided as proof of compliance with the standards stated in the Acceptable Solution.
