Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods (AS and VMs) were called compliance documents. Some still have the “compliance document” title but the AS or VMs they contain are valid and unaffected by the name change.

All of the Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods relating to G9 are contained in one document.

  • Defines the terms ‘electrical installation’, ‘electrical supply stream’ and ‘essential service’.
  • G9/VM1 references the documents that can be accepted as verifying compliance with G9, including within domestic dwellings.
  • G9/AS1 provides a design solution for accessible light switches and plug sockets.
