Concurrent version: Effective on 10 April 2012 until 1 November 2024

Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods (AS and VMs) were called compliance documents. Some still have the “compliance document” title but the AS or VMs they contain are valid and unaffected by the name change.

All of the Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods relating to F7 are contained in one document.

F7/AS1 gives a design solution for different types of warning systems: fire, sprinkler, smoke alarm, and the automatic alerting of Fire Service.   It provides specific information on domestic smoke alarm systems, and those for hotels, motels or multi-unit residential accommodation in retirement villages.   It sets out the location of alarms with reference to Acceptable Solutions C/AS1 to C/AS7 and for every space to have at least one detector.
