3rd edition, amendment 3

Effective on 14 February 2014 until 30 May 2017

Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods (AS and VMs) were called compliance documents. Some still have the “compliance document” title but the AS or VMs they contain are valid and unaffected by the name change.

All of the Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods relating to F6 are contained in one document.

  • F6/AS1 gives a design solution for emergency lighting for certain buildings or parts of buildings where lack of visibility would increase the risk of injury.  It gives locations for emergency lighting, levels of illuminance, measurement, start-up and output, duration, documentation and testing.
  • Appendices give occupant densities (Table 2.2 from Acceptable Solution C/AS1), modification to Standards, and measurement of escape route travel distance.
