Revision to a section on investigation parameters and methodoly in the guidance on assessment, repair and rebuild of earthquake-affected industrial buildings in Canterbury.

This Building Controls Update is a periodic news bulletin for the building sector.

MBIE have revised section 3.2.5 ‘Investigation parameters and methodology’ of the guidance on the assessment, repair and rebuild of earthquake-affected industrial buildings in Canterbury.

The revision relates to geotechnical considerations when carrying out engineering assessments of industrial buildings. In particular, the guidance on the application of fines corrections has been revised to align with the R Boulanger and I Idriss (2014) methodology.

Pages VI – X have been affected along with section 3.10 – 3.22 of the document.
